For a daring IT company that started five years ago today with just two employees and a bold dream to become a leader in a niche market, SQL*Wizard has lived up to its name. It has done amazing things that could only be expected of a real wizard.
First, it started up at a time when the Philippine economy was just catching the "Asian flu." Second, it defied odds for quick solid growth - recording impressive gains in the local market, in the face of the economic slump, as a result of its successes in developing and marketing better products and services. Third, it went public this year and blazed its way to a successful debut by posting a 48 per cent gain - and getting full subscription on its initial public offering of four million shares, which represent 20 per cent of total company shares of stock. In the process, it made history by being the first company to be listed in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Board of the Philippine Stock Exchange last July 20, 2002.
