    by: Dinah Salonga

SQL*Wizard was chosen as one of the 9 companies who will participate in the 2nd batch of the CBI ITO program sponsored by the Netherlands Government.

CBI stands for Center for the Development of Imports from Developing Countries. CBI has created a 5-year coaching program that will enable IT companies from developing countries to be able to export their services to the EU.

The nine companies who are included in the program are all members of the Philippine Software Industry Association.

In the Philippines, the EXPRO program of the CBI is administered with the assistance of the BETP as the Business Support Organization.

The participants have undergone 2 training courses since the start of the program. The first one was conducted in Rotterdam from January 26 to 30, 2009. This course focused on the creation of an Export Marketing Plan which each representative had to complete at the end of the course. The 2nd course was on the Legal Aspects of IT Outsourcing which was conducted here in Manila on March 30 and 31, 2009 by the CBI consultants from Netherlands.
